I’m pretty sure we’ve all been there…
You’ve got family photos coming up, and there you are-
Just staring into your closet, feeling frazzled, praying that the right look jumps out at you!
Then 5 words familiar words come screaming out:
“I have NOTHING to wear!”
Throughout the planning process of booking portrait sessions,
I frequently get asked, “What should we wear?”
Its hard to decide, isn’t it?
I hear you- as a momma of 5, I too feel the pressure of finding the right pieces for everyone-
and inevitably end up overwhelmed quickly with all the decisions to make.
So in order to save you from your temptation to put everyone in jeans and (insert any color) matching polos …
I have put together some inspiration boards!
Most you know that I am a Matilda Jane Trunk Keeper– so of course our pieces are the base for these collections,
but you can apply the principals and looks in any brand!
They key is to pick a couple of colors to weave throughout the group.
Not everyone has to have every color, but pick 3 base colors to pull from,
mix some pattern and some solids to give variety, and think in layers.
Most of the time when we find looks we love online, they tend to have multiple layers-
it adds so much more visual interest- and offers variety while shooting: some with vest on, some off, etc…
Take a peek at what I’ve collected for you and let me know if I can help!
I really hope these inspire you to take another look in your closet,
or at least have you pointed in the right direction when your ready to shop!
I’d love to hear what your favorite collection was!
Leave a comment below with which set of outfits- (with the cheesy names I gave them)
Let me know which look you liked best!
With a heavy helping of Coffee and Grace, Amanda
